STAY IN, They Said
‘STAY IN’ they ordered We did as we were told We stocked up, closed down No one dared to be bold ‘It’s going to kill us all So close the workplaces and the schools’ No one dared question Didn’t want to be the big fool The sun shone down People stayed home, drank beer A little holiday from work That gave them good cheer And cheer they did Rang bells, beat drums and also clap For those brave healthcare workers Who had no time for a nap ‘Our healthcare heroes Risk their lives every day! Whilst the rest of you have the luxury To stay home and play!’ Time went on And the media kept spouting About the death and the gore And anyone caught flouting A few brave souls spoke out Made some helpful suggestions Things didn’t make sense So they asked critical questions ‘Do the ventilators make it worse? The figures don’t add up And what about the midazolam? We’re importing that by the truck!’ ‘SHUT UP!’ ‘We’ll censor anything That doesn’t tow the COVID line Besides, we’re looking after your health Our interventions are benign’ ‘But the economy’s imploding Small businesses are getting wrecked! And what about Third World starvation Have you even checked?’ ‘How dare you question Our policies and statisticians! It’s our duty to crack down hard If you get in the way of our mission’ *** And so it continued With only ‘conspiracy theorists’ disbelieving the graphs While the masses cheered on Those ‘overworked’ frontline staff Isolation, abuse, depression and suicide They all got real bad That was the pandemic But one that couldn’t be cured by a jab Ignore all those inconvenient truths Cos there’s no money to be made Whereas a quick COVID vax means Big Pharma’s wealth will never fade! *** Years later we look back Did any of it make sense? The masking, lockdowns and vaxxing All at the most incredible expense The death rate never came back down It’s ‘Long COVID’ they now assure The vax will never get the blame They’ve cut the numbers to obscure ‘STAY IN’ they’ll order When their next ‘catastrophe’ comes our way ‘We’re the experts, you’re just plebs You’re only job is to obey’ Will we do as we’re told once more Be placid, meek and tamed? Or will we tell them where to go Fuck their bullshit, refuse to be shamed! That’s the choice that lies ahead The choice for everyone A lot of people will grab their ankles And wait for the deed to be done But for those that won’t They’ve found there’s more than just a few And now we all know each other Let’s see what we can do
